| Data Usage Platform as a Federal Data Asset | The key objective of this project is to develop an easy-to-maintain, user-friendly dashboard showing the utilization of federal data by a wide variety of data users with varying experience in research, decision-making and policymaking. Federal data can include administrative data as well as statistical data. Currently, there is no shared resource for federal agencies to track the usage of their data. Related works include the Democratizing Data Initiative and the Federated Data Usage Platform project. This project seeks solutions to create and maintain a shared data usage tracking dashboard as part of the National Secure Data Service (NSDS) that will provide data users information on the timely and relevant usage of federal data. |
| Providing Customer Service for a National Secure Data Service Through a Data Concierge | The objective of this project is to develop a data concierge service that provides high-quality technical assistance to help data users with data discovery, access, and linkage as well as navigating services available within a National Secure Data Service (NSDS). |
| Data Modernization: Future Directions for Data Collection Frames and Modeled Estimates | This project seeks to address the rapidly changing landscape of survey data collection and dissemination of federal survey statistics. The key objective of this effort is to develop alternative data collection frames and data dissemination methods to inform the release of federal survey statistics that rely on sampling methods. |
| Modeling Criminal Case Processing Within Local Jurisdictions | The objective of this project is to explore the impact of criminal case processing from arrest through prosecution outcomes. It will link case-level data across relevant agencies in three jurisdictions to identify how processing patterns affect criminal case outcomes. It will provide a framework for linking operational data across multiple agencies and jurisdictions. |
| Developing Fraud Risk Models in Support of Public Programs | The objective of this project is to develop new fraud detection methods to provide a more complete view of fraud against public programs. It will estimate the magnitude of fraud and identify risk factors and vulnerabilities in one public program, serving as a proof of concept for applying this methodology to other programs. |
| Providing Access to Updated, Aggregate Federal Workforce and Training Data to State, Local, and Territorial Governments | This project aims to develop a dashboard that provides up-to-date aggregate public federal workforce and training data by state. It would identify and aggregate federal workforce and training data by state to support state decision making. |
| Evaluating the Impact of State Grants on Self-Sufficiency for Families and Children | The objective of this project is to link administrative data on housing participants with state block grant data to identify HUD recipients receiving childcare vouchers, analyze the extent to which those vouchers are used, and model the effect of voucher use on sustained employability. |
