Project Name:

Development of a Prototype for the Standard Application Process Portal

Contractor: Mathematica, Inc.

Lessons Learned

Lessons learned during this reporting period include refined understanding of formal and informal communication channels used by applicants, reviewers and agency assistance providers over the course of an application and review. We plan to use this information to refine the prototype’s approach toward supporting these channels.

As the application process is complex, we are using results of our usability tests, feedback from the NCSES team, our experience from developing other applications and established usability best practices to optimize, system flow/navigation, prompts and in-line instructions.
